Eligibility 

Student Status

UBC undergraduate student, graduate student, postdoc, research associate, staff and recently graduated UBC students (within 6 months of graduation as of the registration date.

Existing Projects

If you're entering an existing project or startup, it must be a non-incorporated venture that have not gone through the e@UBC Lean Launchpad program

Entrance

There are two ways to enter the Innovation onBoard competition: either by applying online through our program or by applying to the eHUB RBC Get Seeded Program being one of the top 8 teams in RBC Get Seeded. After your application, to facilitate the process we will be having half-hour, one-on-one interviews with your team to help you refine your idea and to match you with the best possible mentor. 

*if you compete in RBC and do not reach the top 8 this does not disqualify you from Innovation onBoard and you are encouraged to still apply to our program

Innovation Fair - Semi Finals

The Innovation Fair at Innovation onBoard is a tradeshow style event where teams exhibit their venture to attendees and a rotating judging panel. The judging panel will then critique each individual venture-based on the content, team cohesiveness and presentation.

Finals 

A Dragon's Den styled competition that allows teams to compete in front of angel investors, renowned specialists, and faculty of the University of British Columbia. The Innovation onBoard Finals consists of a 5-minute pitch and 5 minute Q/A period with the judging panel. With the opportunity to receive funding and receive spots in e@UBC Lean Launchpad accelerator, this is an incredible opportunity for all student's looking to continue their venture.
